Event Scheduled for October 9th; $1,400 in Scholarships to be awarded
Allegany College of Maryland will host the Annual Tri-State College Night on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. The 45th installment of the event, sponsored by the Allegany County Guidance Counselors’ Association, strives to help high school students make educated decisions about post-secondary plans. ACM has parking available adjacent to the gym. Attendees are encouraged to use both entrances to the gym to register for the event.
Tri-State College Night provides students and parents with an opportunity to explore various colleges, universities, and career and technical schools as well as branches of the military and their service academies. More than 50 schools and military organizations will be represented at this year’s event.
Additionally, four high school students in attendance will be awarded, by random drawing, scholarships ranging from $200 to $500 to help them further their educations. Two juniors will earn $200 scholarships, and two seniors will earn $500 scholarships for a total of $1,400 in scholarship monies to be given away.
