From the Desk of Mrs. Smith

May/June 2008

Mark your calendars! We will be making up our snow days at the end of the year. As of March 26th, we have five student school days to make up. Our school year will be extended by five days.

We had 65 students on our school honor roll for the third nine week period. Congratulations boys and girls!

A big thanks goes out to Katrina Coburn for organizing this year's Math Night. We would also like to thank the many volunteers who helped with all of the fun stations our students visited. We had a great time doing various math activities. Thanks to all for participating.

Frost students were very fortunate to see a chemistry program sponsored by Frostburg State University students who are members of the American Chemical Society. Students learned how some chemicals react when mixed with other chemicals. It was exciting to see how the experiements worked.

Frost Elementary School did a great job collecting telephone books for the county's recycling project this year. Students collected a grand total of 2, 487 phone books. Way to go! We would like to thank students, parents, and grandparents for all of their hard work. Mr. Whitehead's class had the highest number of phone books. They collected 648 phone books. Mrs. Kirk came in second place with 319 phone books and Mrs. Kesecker's Pre-K class took third place with 276 phone books. Our school did a great job!

If you have an questions, please feel free to contact the school at 301-689-5168.
